My strengths and weaknesses in ICT
In regards to my own computing competencies and comprehension, I feel as though I am able to work using a computer effectively and use the most essential programmes such as Microsoft Office, Powerpoint or Excel. I feel I am able to pick up new concepts and new software quickly and with little guidance, which allows me to adapt and expand my knowledge and understand of ICT. I can familiarise myself with a computer and find specific software or applications to aid in my learning and understanding quickly and with little fuss. I am computer using most form of technology such as the different laptops, IPad, IPhone, Ipod or Mac books, however any technology I haven’t used or am not familiar with can sometimes be a struggle to adapt to but I am quick to find guidance to aid in this area and find myself learning about the new technology.
When looking at the curriculum for ICT I quickly found that I had not come across the majority of the terminology and therefore my target or aim would be to become more familiar with the correct terminology. This would be so that I am then able to correctly teach or speak about the technology. I think I would have to make sure I am up-to- date with any new technology so that I am able to offer aid to anyone struggling effectively.
